Edmund Hosker

Director, International Energy, EU and Energy Resilience

Edmund Hosker has been Director, International Energy, EU and Energy Resilience at the Department of Energy and Climate Change( DECC) since September 2011, with responsibility for the joint DECC and FCO International Energy Unit, as well as EU issues, and for energy resilience. He is also currently Chair of the Governing Board of the International Energy Agency, and co-Chair of the G20 Energy Sustainability Working Group. Before taking on his current role, Edmund was acting Director-General for Corporate Services and Chief Operating Officer in DECC from its creation in 2008. Before the creation of DECC, he was Director of Energy Markets in one of its predecessor Departments. During a career of over 35 years, he has worked for a number of different Departments, including FCO and the Cabinet Office, and held a number of Director-level posts dealing with finance and resource management, EU issue, trade policy, as well as spending time on secondment to the private sector.
